New lift in the hips

Unread postby cyklnut » Tue Oct 10, 2023 9:06 am

I had right hip total arthroplasty surgery yesterday. (Outpatient)
All pain in the right joint has gone away. I have soreness from the surgery but not as bad as I thought it would be. I have not taken any of the pain meds they gave me only over the counter meds. I am using a walker to get around at this time. Doctor says one to two weeks, then a cane for another week or two. I can drive after three weeks and ride the bike after ten. I hope to shorten that if I can but I am not going to do anything stupid, which is not the norm for me. I hope to be back riding with the gang ASAP.

If you don’t mind me asking, where did you have your surgery done and will you be doing the other hip also?

Flip I had it done at Catawaba Medical Center by Dr. Krenzel from OrthoCarolina. As for the other side I'm not noticing a lot of pain from the left side right now. I'll know for sure once I get back on the bike because that is what bothers the hip the most. It has never been as bad as the right but if it gives any trouble out with the old and in with the new. At this time I fully recommend replacement to anyone with hip pain.
