I hear Rotella which is available from Wallmart is cost effective. I have also heard it is not MA2 certified even though they say they are by their own testing.

Both Oreilly's here were out of stock, even though the website said otherwise. And none available to ship from website either.

And now AMazon price went to $23.44/qt. Guess its time to try another brand. Can you use semi-synthetic after using full-syn?

The local K’ville store shows in stock. I’ll be glad to run over there tomorrow to check for you. Interesting the website shows unavailable for shipment.

Thanks Marc, don't make a special trip--but if you're in the neighborhood check it out. I'll take 8 qts at $10.99 if they have it. 4 is all I gotta have right now though.

Marc, on 2nd thought don't--there is too much confusion on Oreilly's website re this item--some show it as a V-TWIN formula, and there are 2 more different looking labels. I think I'll just change brands. But THANKS!
Edit--I got one of the Oreilly's calling their dist ctr to see if they got any--I doubt it because he couldn't get it ordered on his computer.
Edit #2--now I see Beemer Boneyard has German Liqui-Moly Racing Synth 4T 5W-40 engine oil $59.95 for a gallon. Another option.

Update: Oreilly's in Morganton found 1 case of 6 qts Castrol in the ATL whse @ $10.99/qt and brought it in for me! Nice folks. But there ain't no more, at least for a rational price. Thinking Castrol has abandoned that 5W40 weight oil, the others are plentiful at normal prices.

Interesting! Now we both have enough oil for 1 1/2 changes. How much you want for your two? [FLUSHED FACE] Brick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think I'll wait a while to see if the 5W40 comes back--if not we'll deal. I have heard bad crap about mixing brands of full-syn oil, dunno if its true or not....

I've used Rotella T6 5W40 (full synthetic) in all my motorcycles "forever". It comes in gallon jugs and is available everywhere.

Is it motorcycle specific? ( i.e meets JASO MA/MA2 specs)

I have been using Mobil One for 20 years and it’s around $10/quart at Wal-Mart. That’s up from $8.28 a few years ago, but it’s still a good price. I use the 20W50 since I have all twins.

Mobil 1 is good, but finding 5W40 full syn moto oil in any brand is an issue.
