It sounded like they were blasting next door! LOUD boom, floor jumped. Can't imagine, if that was a mild one, what a "real" one would feel like. <bugeye>

You feel it way up there?

No we didn’t fee anything. We never felt the Sparta earthquake last August. Maybe we’re too far away or something to do with the elevation.

It was 1/2 mile from my house. Felt it but not much. I’ve tried to post a screen shot off the earthquake.usgs.gov site showing where it was… 1/2 mile away. No damage here drove over to where it was centered… nothing!

Katie and I were sitting on porch at 9:19 am. Felt a mild rumble then a bang.

Bob you are sitting on bedrock, no wonder.

No kidding! Yep I also heard 2 sounds a fraction of a second apart, almost like a distant bang followed by a huge "whump" that made the floor jump. At first I thought something extremely heavy had fallen on the floor in the house somewhere. But realized there was nothing it could be and then I started searching the internet and something popped up in about 60 seconds. Crazy. <yikes>

BRMC lost their bridge today. Last time that happened it took 2 years to rebuild.

197 in Pensacola has a 15’ cut across it. Probably won’t take too long to fix as the residents up there would have to go 197 to Barnardsville to get out.

Lots of flooding in Canton area too. Roads could be dirty for a week or more.

A FB post by BRMC stated the campground is gone. The cabins and support building were washed away in a flash flood.
