Charlotte local ride suggestions for a newbie

My girlfriend just took the MSF course and lives in South Charlotte. I'm looking for some good routes near the McAlpine area that are not too technical and with limited traffic for her to learn some basics. I want her to start on neighborhood roads to master starting and stopping with basics of turning and limited traffic. She can get some decent blind curves on Carmel just out of her neighborhood. Any thoughts?

Steve I am out in Wesley Chapel and the traffic gets far less scary out here. Just take 521 (Johnston Rd) to Newtown road and go east. I’d be glad to show you around, then you could show her.

I used to live off Carmel and it’s about as safe as you are going to get. Not many shopping centers. Semi light traffic.

If u don't mind riding a little ways, head south on 521 (Johnston Rd) a few miles to just past Sun City and then turn right at the next light. That road will take you to Van Wyck and on to the west side of Lancaster if you want, out in the country. Lots of sweepers and hilly. Its a couple miles past Tireatrs turn on Newtown (actually Marvin Rd at that spot).
