Probably put you on heparin or coumadin, both of which have antidotes, once the other stuff u r taking wears off. They let you go home in the mean time?

Yes I got out last Monday. I now have a gallbladder drain and will for the next 5-7 weeks. I have to stay on blood thinners because of the two stents put in in May. The goal is to take me off and then remove the gallbladder. Ugggg! Sucks!

As a physician, I'm confused as to the medical logic of this process. What is the diagnosis if you don't mind me asking?

Makes sense to me but I'm no doctor lol. Fer sure. <grin> Sounds like they wanna jerk that gallbladder but need him on blood thinners for a few more weeks because of the new stents, and the drain is to circumvent any more bile blockages that caused the severe pain. Probably got him on a super low-fat diet too. Although I could be full of shit. <BS>

Can't do surgery while on blood thinners. Brick chime in here, before we misdiagnose you and cause complications. <bugeye>

Bob has it correct. The stents need to have a period of time with me on blood thinners. Then they will take me off blood thinners and then remove the gallbladder.

I get all that, but laparoscopic cholecystectomy is minimally invasive and they can sometimes do it on blood thinners. Do you have acute cholecystitis or something else? Was there some other factor that your surgeon wanted to avoid?

Not that I know of but I did ask if they were going to take out the gallbladder laparoscopically and they said no that it was inflamed and attached to the liver.
That is all I know.

In the mean time you'll need to go out to the garage and sit on the bike while making vrooom vrooom noises so you won't feel too rusty when you start back. <squid>

Well I started this thread May 20th... this year and October 12th I finally rode again! I had had some trepidation because of a strange feeling I had been getting. It seemed like I wasn't getting a full breath which of course worried me some. I didn't know weather it was cardiac, pulmonary or a panic attack? So I went to my cardiologist and he said it wasn't any of those it was a side effect of one of the drugs I am taking. In reality I'm physically fine it just makes me feel like I'm not getting a full breath. Grrrr!!
Ok with that out of the way... yesterday afternoon I got back on my FJ-09! Yes the one I crashed on when I had my last "cardiac event"! And yes the one the Lee put back together for me. I owe you so much for all you have done for me through all this! You Da-Man!
Anyway... damn did that ride yesterday feel good... NO it felt FANTASTIC! Whahoo! No problems at all. My friend Clyde rode over on his DR-650 and we went for a ride. I thought it best to have someone along for my first attempt. It was a nice leisure pace trying to feel if my hand or knee or anything felt bad riding. I'm pleased to report that it was truly amazing! It felt sooo damn good!! I only rode about 70 miles but that was enough to start.
We were riding up 181 to stop at Christa's for a drink when we passed Bob and Scott going down 181. So I guess they did ride yesterday. No report so I wasn't sure!
Not sure I'm up for a high speed romp just yet but I sure loved riding again!

Bob and Scott got split off from Beachy and me on NC-80 north of 19E but I also finished off coming down 181. Bet I didn't miss you by more that a few minutes.

You looked as healthy as any of us Olde Farts get when I last saw you so I'm glad though not surprised the ride went well. I'm guessing your patience for riding at a "leisure pace' wears thin sooner than later.

This is excellent news. Every time I have seen a new post to this "Did it again" thread I got a sinking feeling, so this is a very fitting way to END this downer thread. <muaha> On an up-beat!

So congrats Brick and hope to see you on the next "romp". Thread will be locked soon--if it happens again (and it won't) you'll have to start another one.

As part of my heart attack/crash my helmet was destroyed! Not my head! The SENA 20S that was on the helmet came off and was placed in a bag that I didn’t find for a few months. It didn’t show external damage so I put it on charge. It would never take a charge so I contacted SENA and opened a warranty request. I found the receipt showing it was l just less than 1 year old. I shipped it back to them and waited. About a week ago I got an email telling that my warranty was approved. So here is what I got from UPS yesterday.
