Hello from Shelby NC

Just had a kind invite from Bob Beale and thought I would drop in and say hello. I have been riding motorized bikes since the age of 8 when my Dad introduced me to my first mini-bike....sold! Haha..I have owned 18 or so motorcycles over the years from Hondas Goldwings, Harley's, Suzukis, KTM's, and BMW's even road Bultacos as a kid on the farm. I presently have a 15 BMW Adventure on order and hope to take delivery mid July or August. I am retiring at the end of August and look forward to some long distance touring. I have a garage/man cave dedicated to just my bike when it arrives. Added a new Handy airlift the other day as laying on the ground just is not for me anymore. I like the bike at my eye level now :)

Hope to meet some or all of you members someday.

Welcome Dave!! <welc>

Dang I am jealous of that Handy Lift. Crawling around on the floor sucks more the older you get. <muaha>

Hope to see you on a ride soon. If the weather will cool off a bit. <whew>

Curious where you bought the new GSA...? You are just about equi-distant from 3 BMW dealers....

Welcome from another Dave.... Well all these guys know me as Brick.
Oh the new GSA is very cool. Which color did you order?
As far as where, John at Euro Sports in Asheville just posted that he has sold 100 bikes this year and I know of 4 of them 3 GSA's a GS, Bob and another bike don't remember which one.
Hope to get to ride with you soon.

I must be out riding my Super Teneré'!

Welcome Dave! This is a great group of guys that are totally into bikes and are great fun to ride with. Looking forward to meeting you on a ride when you get the new bike. Sounds like you have a pretty nice "man cave" set up. Air lift? Cushy!

Welcome and congrats on the upcoming retirement!!! I'm one of the few working men in this group. I have a decade or two to go. Lots of great rides and fine fellows here at COFSTA.

Welcome,

My Dad was born and raised in Shelby NC. I named my oldest daughter after the place. Definitely one of the better spots in our state.
Like Broz, I too am a working stiff. You may find it hard to hook up on a lot of rides posted here. These guys act like they are retired or something. :D

Lee and I do a lot of weekend rides, sometimes when the weather is less than ideal (and I can coax him out). Join in when you get the chance.
