The weather is finally improving starting Thursday into Friday. The tourist will be in the High Country by the thousands - there are several festivals going on. I did the BRP to Mt Mitchell and got stuck with a group of RTs behind tourist crawling along. Jumped off at Hwy 80 and did only a little better. I plan to ride Friday and then avoid tourist Sat / Sun

Nelson--make it happen! Post a new ride for Sunday in Upcoming Rides with maybe a suggested route & lunch stop and see who's ready. Although many of us are retired and hooked on riding weekdays, plenty of weekend riding happens also. <scoot>

Ya'll just need to stay away from the BRP. Roads in Yancey, Madison, and most of Mitchell county are very cage free, even during the peeping season. I rode 500 miles with a base camp in Spruce Pine last Friday and Saturday. The only cages we had an issue with were near Bakersville on 261 for 6 miles. <rdr>
