Hello, my name is Ken and I'm addicted to motorcycles.

I've been riding around these parts for about 20 years, 35 years overall. I heard about the site from Tom Blocker, so I thought I'd drop a note to introduce myself. I ride a few Aprilias these days, street and track, but I've owned ST rigs most of the past 20 years. I had a 2003 FJR with 140K miles until it was murdered on NC 80 by a cage in 2012. I'm looking to get back into ST in 2015 with a used FJR or GS1200. We likely know a lot of the same riders in our circles, so connecting should be easy.

I live in Stanley on Blacksnake rd. I moved there from Charlotte in 2006 after riding that road one day while searching for homes in Gaston county. I thought " this wouldn't be a bad road to ride everyday". I also have a cabin in the mtns near Burnsville so I know those local roads very well. I have a lot of vacation to use for riding. Unlike many of you (I've heard) that are retired, I'm still hitting the clock everyday, but I do sneak out on weekday rides fairly often. A typical day for me would be 350-400 miles door to door if I do a day trip. 8:00 am-6:00 pm though I am flexible. I can meet riders in route, but prefer to avoid Lincolnton altogether if I can.

I also have a NoMar tire changer at the house if anyone would rather change their own tires instead of spending $$$ at a shop. Just stop by with advance notice and we'll hook you up! I don't charge friends, jsu bring clean wheels and lend a hand.

Safe riding!

Ken Moore

Welcome! We are a back roads kind of group so missing Lincolnton isn't a problem. Bob has the back roads from Hardin Rd to that Lincolnton HS on 27 I think it is. From there we meet w others at the Half Way Hardware gas station near NC 18 & 10. Look forward to riding with you.

Tireatr--a very fitting handle for riding in these parts. Lately the big question every ride is, who's rear tire is gonna sprout steel belting THIS time? <muaha> Of course, our riding habits have absolutely no bearing on this.

Blacksnake Rd--the only "real" twisty down here in the flatlands. Here is how you could go to meet us as we turn off 321 at Hardin Rd. enroute to a usual meetup spot (Halfway Hardware just before start of Old 18). Avoids Lincolnton and is a very nice "sweeperly" country route.

Hey Ken... Don't think I know him but then I'm bad with names... perhaps I'd know him if I see his face.
