Thurs. Jan. 5 UP the mtn.!

We did that car thang again today. Lee, Scott, and I took 126 to NC80 to Burnsville for lunch at the Home Place. Then we took 19W to Erwin and 197 back over the mountain with a run down Harrell Hill and Fork Mtn rds. Then finished it all off with some downhill hooliganism on 181. Roads were all in great shape--no road chemicals of any significance!

Pit stop in Erwin,TN

Good ride. Most of the salt and grit had been washed away by recent rains.

Same place different angle:

The Mini is doubling as a project car for me. So far have replaced rear suspension bushings, added adjustable lower control arms and new rear brake calipers and new fuel filter. Under the hood are a cold air intake, larger injectors and a new accessory belt tensioner. Parts purchased but yet to be installed are new rear brake hoses and new engine coolant thermostat and housing. A lot of other stuff you might think a priority had already been done by Lee.

I think all that stuff is paying off Scott. It seems peppier in uphill runs like NC 80. <joecool>
Projects are fun too.
