Double Island Rd Video

Unread postby LeeDavis » Fri Oct 01, 2021 6:17 pm

Tom gave me the full screen/resolution files of the video he shot from his Focus RS of Dan and me on Double Island Rd. I posted a segment to Youtube. Pick one of the HD "Settings" and it's best viewed on a larger screen.

"Effing awesome" video (as Dan would say <grin> ). I moved my face about 8" from my desktop monitor and it was like virtual reality. Got motion sickness before it was over.

Tom shot it in 2.7k on, I think, a Hero 7. I upscaled it in Davinci Resolve to 4K and rendered at 60mb/s. That's a trick I figured out - Youtube allows higher bandwidth for such videos so they look nearly as good as the original files.

I just watched this vid again--reminded me of something from the Isle of Man lol. <fonda>

Need to have another day like that one! Soon.

A sports car run would be good, too.

This video was fun! When was that shot? And who is in front of you. I see two bikes but can’t tell who they are. I know my brake light flashes like that.

Thats Dan in lead and Lee behind him. Tom Willy made the vid driving his 400 hp Ford Focus RS behind them with camera mounted on front of his hood. And there was a string of us slowpokes behind Tom trying to keep up. It was a blast. <yes!>

Oh and Lee did some sorcery to the vid and it reminds me of a hi-rez drone following them...
